“TAKE A YOUNG PERSON TO LUNCH DAY”

On behalf of the Black Advanced Practice Nurses of South Florida, we would like to invite you to

participate in our second "Take A Young Person to Lunch Day."  As we get ready to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, we

challenge you to take this day to tell a young person about what you do as an Advanced

Practice Nurse (APN). “Take a Young Person to Lunch Day” focuses on several of the organization

foundational pillars (Education, Mentoring, and Advocacy).

For this challenge, we ask that you identify a young person, take them to lunch, talk about your

practice, take a picture, and share the picture with a brief caption about your experience. The young person can be a family member, a friend, or someone interested in nursing and what is it that APNS do.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be celebrated on Monday, January 15, 2024, a great day to

educate, mentor and advocate for your nursing specialty. I am looking forward to seeing your

pictures. Please send your photo and caption no later than Monday January 31, 2024.
