In South Florida, Black Nurse Practitioners (BNPs) are positioned to organize to meet the unique needs of black South Floridians. This need is evident as demonstrated by the current pandemic, the growing shortage of primary care physicians, and the increase in Floridians who are in the coverage gap and are eligible for insurance coverage. This has led to the need for black NPs to provide educational services to South Floridians, especially South Floridians with Caribbean roots.
